Examples of small inquiry activities that foster curiosity include:
- Based on the theme of "How do things move?", we conducted experiments on floating and sinking in water.
- To find out how living things change, we plant seeds and observe their growth.
- During pool time, children can learn while interacting with water.
- Visit a local bakery and experience the bread-making process by kneading the dough.
These kinds of inquiry activities stimulate children's curiosity and develop their ability to discover for themselves how the world works.
Field trips to sites such as the Dinosaur Museum take learning beyond the classroom, and literacy and basic math are woven naturally into these meaningful experiences.

Professional wagashi artisans visited our preschool to demonstrate the delicate craft of making these beautiful treats. With careful hands and bright smiles, our students then created their very own wagashi — learning about Japanese culture, colors, textures, and creativity along the way. 🇯🇵🎨

🚒✨ Our Picasso Jupiter class visited the local fire station to learn all about safety and emergency preparedness. The firefighters shared important knowledge, and our students listened with focus and curiosity.
It was an invaluable experience that not only taught them what to do in case of an emergency, but also deepened their respect for the vital work of our community heroes. 👩🚒👨🚒

We are proud to announce that our very own Jupiter Class students, Yuon and Ema, have successfully achieved EIKEN Grade 3, a qualification generally expected of upper elementary learners in Japan.

A Summer to Remember at KIS for our Picasso students!
