2025年4月11日、熊本インターナショナルスクール（KIS）のアリーナには、2025-2026年度の入学式を祝うために集まった学校コミュニティの熱気が溢れていました。この式典では、新入生と進級生の1年生、7年生、11年生、そしてその保護者が歓迎され、成長と学び、新たな経験に満ちた1年の幕開けとなりました。
新入生にとっての新たなスタート
今年の入学式では、学びの旅の始まりを迎える生徒たちが紹介されました：
- 初めての学校生活に胸を躍らせる29名の1年生は、担任のサイラ・アロソ先生とともに新たな一歩を踏み出します。
- 12名の7年生は、エリザベス・モートン先生の指導のもと、中等部での新たな挑戦と機会に向き合います。
- 5名の11年生は、ヘンリー・ホアン先生のサポートのもと、高校生活の最後のステージに臨みます。
校長のマシュー・オーム先生は開会の挨拶で、生徒たちに「好奇心を大切にし、人とのつながりを築きながら、学ぶことに誇りを持ってほしい」と語りかけました。また、KISが目指す「グローバルな未来に備えた、バランスの取れた人材の育成」に対する思いを強調しました。

The Kumamoto International School (KIS) Arena buzzed with excitement on April 11, 2025, as the school community came together to celebrate the Entrance Ceremony for the 2025-2026 academic year. The event welcomed new and returning students in Grades 1, 7, and 11, along with their parents and guardians, setting the stage for a year of growth, learning, and new experiences.
A Fresh Start for New Students
This year’s ceremony highlighted the beginning of important academic journeys:
- 29 eager Grade 1 students, ready to embark on their first steps in formal education with their homeroom teacher, Ms. Sairah Aroso
- 12 Grade 7 students, stepping into the challenges and opportunities of middle school under the guidance of Ms. Elizabeth Morton
- 5 Grade 11 students, preparing for their final years of high school with the support of their adviser, Mr. Henry Huang
The principal, Mr. Matthew Ohm, opened the event by encouraging students to embrace curiosity, build strong relationships, and take pride in their learning. He emphasized KIS’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are prepared for a global future.
